Welcome to the fourth week of February!

We completed our ninth spelling test today.  Our spelling books and a new word list for next week's spelling homework will come home tomorrow. 

Below is the booklet that we read and completed today.  

Parents -- have your child practice reading "Animals' Eyes".  Talk about animals and how they use they eyes to find food and / or to keep away from other animals that want to eat them.

This is our last day of school for this week.  

Teacher's Convention is tomorrow and Friday and Family Day is on Monday.  

We will see you back at school on Tuesday February 22, 2011!

Because we will be away from school for the next 5 days, you will find an extra homework assignment in your child's Friday Folder.  Please complete this homework and return it to school in your child's folder on Tuesday, February 22.

Today we talked about the sense of sight and how some people do not have the sense of sight and are blind.  We learned about the Braille system that blind people use to help them read.  We made our names, using beans, to demonstrate how a blind person can use their fingers to read.  Below is the code to make the letters of the alphabet in Braille:
