Reminder:  Don't forget to practice your Home Reading tonight and return your book tomorrow so that you can have a new Home Reading book for the weekend!

It is still cold outside so we did a book called "It is Cold" in Language Arts today.  The mini book will come home in our Friday Folders tomorrow.  Here is a preview of the book that your son / daughter can practice reading to you tonight.

We went to library today so we should be bringing home new library books to read with you tonight.

In Language Arts we learned about compound words which are two smaller words that can be "glued together" to create bigger words!  We made compound words using "snow" and "ice".

Parents -- Please look at the pictures below with your son / daughter to review the new words that they have learned.

We are presently doing Language Arts activities based on a "Winter" theme.

What a wintery start to our week!  We are so glad almost everyone in our class made it safely to school today.

Today we learned about Citizenship.  We brainstormed ideas to answer the question:  "What do good citizens do at school?"  Parents -- Ask your child how he / she can be a good citizen at school.

Below is our class book about "Our Community of Martindale".  Parents -- have your child read the book below and then see if he / she can remember all of the places that they read about in Martindale.  Your son / daughter should be able to name all of them.  Happy reading!
