Wednesday January 19, 2011

Today we learned all about Animals in Winter.  Gail Gregory taught us how they adapt and survive in the cold weather.  Below are some pictures of the animal puppets, pelts, skulls, scat and footprints that we saw today.
Parents -- ask your child to tell you about the pictures below and what they learned about animals in winter.
A snake puppet looking for the hibernacula.
A toad puppet.  Toads hibernate in the mud at the bottom of a pond.
A frog puppet and a turtle puppet.  They also hibernate in winter.

A salamander and a lizard puppet.
Deer, Hare and Weasel
Cougar and Lynx

                                                        Racoon, Squirrel, Badger and Skunk
                                                                   Muskrat, Otter, Beaver and Mink

We also went to library today so your son / daughter should be bringing home a new library book to read with you this evening.
